Inspector José Pedro Negrí filed a report in 1992 documenting moving furniture, a burning photograph of Estefanía, and a crucifix that had been torn from a wall.

The film is loosely based on Estefanía Gutiérrez Lázaro , who died mysteriously in 1991 after performing a séance at school.
