Following the events of Part 1, the Decepticons have invaded Dinobot Island to harvest its unique energy sources, leading to unstable "time warps" that bring prehistoric threats into the modern world.

Having been "banished" to the island for training in Part 1, the Dinobots eventually join the fight. They prove their worth by leading a charge against the Decepticons and helping to stabilize the island's energy.
