The Hussite Wars lasted for years. Eventually, the movement split between the (who wanted minor church reforms) and the Taborites (who wanted complete social equality). After the Battle of Lipany in 1434, the movement ended, but it left a lasting legacy: the Czech people had stood up to the strongest powers in Europe for their beliefs and their language.
