The story begins with a celebration: King Ben proposes to Mal, and she accepts. However, this joy is short-lived. Audrey, the daughter of Sleeping Beauty, is consumed by jealousy and resentment over losing her place as potential queen. She steals Maleficent’s scepter and the Queen’s Crown, transforming into the "Queen of Mean" and casting a sleeping curse over the entire kingdom of Auradon.
