The story begins immediately after the events of the movie. Hercules has regained his divinity and is welcomed back to Mount Olympus, but a new conflict arises:

: Zeus refuses to let Megara stay with Hercules because she is a mortal.

: Hera offers Meg a deal—if she can complete a difficult quest within ten days, she will be granted immortality and a place on Mount Olympus.
