" Lila dit ça " (translated as Lila Says ) is a gritty, controversial novel published in 1996 by an author using the pseudonym Chimo . Set in the impoverished housing estates ( banlieues ) outside Paris, it gained notoriety for its raw, explicit portrayal of teenage sexuality and the social tensions of immigrant life in France.
