When Helen of Sparta is abducted, Achilles is called to fulfill a prophecy of becoming the greatest of all Greeks. Patroclus follows him to Troy, where they face ten years of brutal warfare.
The two become inseparable, eventually training under the centaur Chiron on Mount Pelion, where their friendship turns to romance.
After a rift between Achilles and the Greek leader Agamemnon , Achilles refuses to fight. To save their failing army, Patroclus dons Achilles' armor to lead the Myrmidons, leading to his death at the hands of Hector .
