Research indicates that fathers play a critical role in their teenagers' sexual health, often acting as a powerful deterrent to risky behaviors through both direct communication and general involvement. While mothers are traditionally seen as the primary sex educators, paternal influence can be equally or more impactful in specific areas, such as delaying sexual debut and increasing condom use. The Paternal Influence on Sexual Health

: Research from ResearchGate suggests that paternal monitoring (knowing where a teen is and who they are with) is often more effective than general social support in delaying sexual activity for girls and increasing condom use for boys.
